Recent Happenings

Well it has been a while since I last posted. The Spring semester has come to a close, I posted the last of my grades this past Wednesday. What a crazy semester it was.... I figured as I got more settled in that life would become less hectic, but it certainly doesn't seem that way. Now that I've been around for a while expectations go up - I have been giving an advising load for example. Clinic was crazy too.... the LAST day of clinic I was supervising a student doing an ENG test (balance). Something happened that I hope NEVER happens again (probably won't). The patient went into a full blown seizure after our third caloric stimulation (putting water into the ear canal). It was a really scary time, the student and I were restraining the patient on the table so that she wouldn't fall to the floor. I've never experienced something like that before - the type where the person goes into full blown convulsions, eyes rolled back in the head, that sort of thing. We got emergency medical personel in there and the patient was taken to the ER. Luckily she ended up being fine. She wanted to know if she should reschedule her test, we said NO!

Hmm what else is going on? We had another belt test - Cullen is now an advanced purple belt and I am a red belt. We've got a lot of work cut out for us during this testing cycle because we'll miss almost half of it for the wedding/honeymoon.

Speaking of the wedding, it is getting closer. In six weeks I'll be a married woman, so that's exciting. Cullen and I have to make sure all the little things are in order, we'll be working on that after he finishes work (this week!). At the same time I want to get my condo on the market, so we'll be doing all the prep work for that in hopes of putting it up for sale right before we leave for NY.

Next week is the BolderBoulder 10K road race. We'll be running it for the second straight year. Last year I got sick after completing it, I am hoping to avoid a repeat of that. Our start time will be 30 min earlier than last year, plus I've trained more consistently this year. If it goes well I am considering training for a 1/2 marathon next year. We'll see how it goes....

After Memiorial Day we're planning a short road trip across Colorado to Delta to visit Cullen's Grandma Stoody and then to Pueblo to visit his Grandma Cribbs... that way I get a chance to meet them before we tie the knot. I'm looking forward to seeing where Cullen grew up.

Sooooo we have a busy busy busy few weeks ahead of us. Hope this post finds everyone happy and healthy.
