Ugh - I am so glad that Spring Break is almost here. It's funny, I remember being a student and looking forward to break so much.... now as a Professor I think I look forward to it even more! Spring break will officially begin once I leave work on Friday afternoon, and then extend all through next week. I am actually taking a somewhat extended break since I plan on being in NY through Easter and won't arrive back in Colorado until the morning of Tuesday March 25th. It will make that week a hectic one, but I am very much looking forward to spending some time in NY. The major reason for my visit is that my sister is throwing me a bridal shower. I'll also be busy with wedding related tasks including a dress fitting, shopping for a dress for Amy, picking flowers, and having a trial run with my hair stylist.
Not much going on otherwise. Cullen and I will have our next promotional belt tests this week. Tomorrow he will test for purple belt and Friday I will test for advanced green belt. I refer to advanced green as the Christmas belt since it is half green/half red. Cullen's test is sort of a big deal because it is a "bridging test" as he will be bridging from level 1 to level 2. There are 3 levels within our Karate system, 1, 2, and 3... followed by provisional blackbelt and blackbelt. So for the next class cycle we will both be level 2, it will be nice to be working on the same curriculum for one cycle before I bridge to level 3.
If I get any good pictures from Cullen's test, perhaps I'll post some so you can see him in all of his martial arts glory!
